What people notice the moment you walk in.

Most people think presence begins when they start talking. |
(It doesn’t). |
Long before you introduce yourself, make your point, or explain who you are…people have already started forming an impression of you. |
It may not be something they can articulate to themselves, or even do consciously… |
But they’re noticing. |
Here are 7 things people register before you ever say a word: |
1. How you enter the room |
Think about it: Rushed and hurried movement communicates something very different from slow, intentional movement. |
You don’t need to walk slowly or dramatically (leave that to me). Just stop moving like you’re late for your own life. |
2. Your posture |
3-point checklist: Shoulders back. Chest open. Head level. |
Not because you’re trying to look dominant, but because collapsed posture subtly communicates uncertainty and insecurity. People read this instantly. |
3. Where your eyes go |
Confident people don’t frantically scan the room looking for approval. |
They observe their surroundings, and take it all in. |
There’s a difference. |
4. The tension in your face |
A clenched jaw, furrowed brow, or nervous half-smile give you away immediately. |
Consciously relax your face. |
Composure is more visible thank you think it is. |
5. How much space you’re comfortable occupying |
Insecure people often make themselves physically smaller. |
They tuck their arms in. Hunch their shoulders. Stand at the outer edge of conversations doing that awkward little peek over someone else’s shoulder. |
You don’t need to invade anyone else’s space… |
Just stop apologizing for taking up your own. |
6. The condition of your clothing |
This has very little to do with price. |
Fit, cleanliness, grooming, and attention to detail tell people whether you take yourself seriously. |
People notice when you care. |
7. Your pace |
Watch people with real presence. |
Their movements rarely look frantic. Everything is deliberate. |
They sit deliberately. Stand deliberately. Reach deliberately. Turn deliberately. |
That control creates an impression of composure in other areas of life, too. |
And that’s really the point… |
Presence isn’t about trying to look powerful. |
It’s about becoming so internally composed that your body stops broadcasting uncertainty to those around you. |
Before people hear your credentials, your accomplishments, or your ideas… |
They experience you. |
Make sure the experience matches the person you intend to be. |
