Freedom begins where validation ends

Most high achievers do not have an information problem. |
They know what to do. |
They know they should have the difficult conversation. |
They know which decision they've been avoiding. |
They know they need to protect their time, tighten their standards, make the call, leave the relationship, start the project, or finally follow through. |
The problem is that knowing something and doing it consistently are very different things. |
This is where I think people misunderstand coaching. |
At a certain level, you don't need another person giving you generic advice, especially when you can turn to ChatGPT or Claude at any hour of the day or night…for free. |
What you need is someone you trust enough to tell the truth to. |
Someone who knows what you said you were going to do, and holds you accountable for actually doing it. |
Someone who notices when you're rationalizing or justifying. |
Someone who can challenge your thinking without being intimidated by your success. |
Someone who can ask: |
"You said this mattered. So why hasn't it happened yet?" |
That kind of accountability becomes surprisingly rare as you become more successful. |
Employees may not challenge you… |
Friends may not understand the stakes… |
Family may be too close to the situation… |
And most people around you have some relationship with the outcome. |
The right advisor doesn't. |
Their job is to help you think clearly, make the decision, and then make sure you actually execute it. |
That's a large part of the work I do with private clients. |
Not giving them more information… |
Helping them close the gap between the person they know they can be, and the way they're actually operating. |
Because sometimes, the most valuable person in your corner isn't the one with another answer… |
It's the one who won't let you keep avoiding the answer you already have. |
If that kind of relationship would be valuable to you right now, reply to this email and tell me what's been sitting unfinished. |
If the time is right for you to stop stalling and take real action, let’s talk. |
Schedule a call with me here, or just reply to this email and let me know what’s going on. |
Talk to you soon. |
Your coach, |
