In a written statement, Mr. Trump praised Ivana as a "great family man" who "was born hard and raised by our beautiful little girl."
"This is not a man who's been caught running to the White House but rather had no place where he could live by himself," Mr. Trump wrote. "In politics, Mr. Trump is determined to have none of it. The only hope in this day and age lies squarely in the hands of our great leader and his sons."
Mrs. Clinton, the second woman to win the presidential nomination, would like to win back the presidency. But the possibility seems likely to haunt her for the rest of her adult life.

A spokeswoman for President Donald Trump issued a statement Monday saying he had not informed her that Mrs. Clinton had died. "Mr. Trump has not talked much about the cause of his death, which was complications by a stroke," she told a Washington newspaper.

After the election, Trump and Hillary Clinton met in the Oval Office before their first debate, and that became an issue when the former president asked whether Clinton would be prepared to accept the American people's opinions. Some Republicans who were hoping to play a central role in the debate said if she had an offer, the candidate would speak out.

She did everything possible to persuade the American people that she had a better chance of winning, and that she might be a winner as well.
There was some pushback. Some voters thought she lacked temperament or, in some cases, the decency to accept the facts. But it's not just some Trump voters who said she was unfit for a role. After all, Donald Trump was a candidate who offered to work with the Chinese and Russian regimes to stop them from building missiles (his campaign had to back off of this comment).
At one point during his campaign, he bragged about the fact that he and the Democratic National Committee had spent upwards of $1 million to defeat him. He said that when that money came in it was because of people like Bernie Sanders who wanted to turn his campaign around. And even he admitted that if he won he would not allow himself to vote for Clinton, as a sign that "maybe we're not all so different".

At this point, Trump has become much more of an actor than a person: his popularity is largely based on his fame and fortune-making. His fame also goes a long way toward his legitimacy as a president. He has become not only the most popular man in the world, but also "the most famous human being." The question Trump faces now is whether he is a good president or a bad one.

Let me tell you – every day, the American Dream is threatened in some form or another – and the people of the United States with the greatest risk for these results will, every day as we face it, turn up and vote for Donald Trump.
