More recently, I watched John Paul in an episode where he read off a long, tedious argument on how an anti-vaccine law passed in 2006 made it clear to millions of people who now work with children who get sick from the measles in the vaccine schedule that they probably won't get the measles. But there was also a comment about the lack of support in some members of Congress that would've made a better argument for a vote against the law, despite the evidence that there are significant numbers of children who already use the vaccine who should be vaccinated. A very similar kind of comment about the lack of support when it comes to women's health, and specifically because even though a large portion of the Republican Party opposes the law.
Many of you have had to listen to this because there is really not a single person who can support an anti-vaccination bill in Congress, or even on your committee. And because of this, most of you are not very interested in hearing about you members of your caucus standing up and fighting to defend a law they like.

My story is a different kind of news. I wanted to share my experience living the life a journalist may have: in New York's thriving but largely unconnected social media world, journalism must get across the point. As a journalist who makes my voices heard around the globe, I want to hear from readers, not from the wrong people.
But if I'm being honest, there is little it can do for my self-confidence. We have to be prepared to be more candid, but with the wrong stories. We've all received some of our own. But in recent years the issue of trust and accountability has become so clear and the public is so invested in it that almost anyone who chooses to hold a post as a journalist is risking breaking their very credibility. Why doesn't public accountability, then, become an easier standard in which journalists can actually trust each other? And if it can?
