Fareeha Ali, a lawyer in Brooklyn, is in charge of the case. "The call is on."
Ali says this is especially crucial under Obama for a country with such an enormous death toll. "This is very much a national disgrace that we're losing in the battle against terrorism," he says.
She is a former director of a nonprofit organization that works to end extremism at every level. She joined The State, a group that does outreach and educational initiatives to help kids learn their rights.
Ali says the focus on terrorism "looks like a bigger issue," and that "it is something that we need to take into context with the Obama administration … to talk about more serious, effective things."
Ali, who has written a book on the threat of Islamist terrorism, said her organization is concerned by the way Obama is trying to work around the fact that the death toll from all the attacks in recent years is more than 100,000.
"The fear is that the rest of it will be wiped out by this administration," Ali said. "We're worried that we'll have fewer and fewer people to talk to to get ideas for how to deal with this so that there is political pressure on the administration to change."

I said after yesterday's meeting that I would talk with Chairman Burr to try to work out a deal.
When I did that I was pretty much at the point where he did not feel comfortable. He doesn't want to break out any talks he's had with Russia. I want him to come to me at a moment there where he will let me know.
