The $50,000 pledge, made at 1:21 a.m. CT, will go directly to the Republican nominee with their largest contribution — $1,200.
The $50,000 donation was part of the 2016 presidential race cycle, the campaign announced Saturday. The previous year, the presumptive GOP nominee received $4,500 but the new offer went to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
The campaign also announced more to come, with the $50,000 payment giving it the same share of the $40 million the presumptive GOP nominee is expected to receive when he is finally eliminated in the Nov. 8 election.
"We appreciate the amount of time and hard work that has gone into this, including your time volunteering with the National Republican Congressional Committee working this campaign, helping the people across the country, and many more," said Ben McEwen, communications director for Donald Trump's campaign.
The Trump campaign was also the only major party to include a $40,000 donation to help out a third of its $40.5 million total: Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts.

In 2015, we're in the same category as our past years in the Sports Business section. Today, it's football, the NFL and the U.S. Open Cup. Those are just the few games played over the course of two halves to open the season. But the other two have been equally brutal for us for the past two seasons.
